I was spending the night with my friend M. That night her parents were planning a surprise for us. They were taking us frog gigging!!! M. and I were in the front of the boat shining them with a flashlight while her parents were in the back of the boat. When M. and I would spot the frogs (we had a great eye for them!) her dad would SHOOT them. We got 6 frogs and 1 fish that just jumped in the boat. I know... you're wondering... did you eat the legs? NO! But we gave them to the Mexican families that work on their plantation.

We did a poem contest at school last week. First we chose a poem we wanted to do. I chose "Sick" by Shel Silverstein. Then we had memorize it and say it in front of the class. 4 people got chosen from our class to compete in front of the school, and I was one of them. Here is the poem I recited:

"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut--my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is. . .Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

When Dad's Away, the Kids WILL Play!!

It's January 20th, the coldest day so far of 2008. There's a bucket with ice slivers floating in it outside. And, here I am...

Now that I've had a hot shower, Mom's taking me to Toys-R-Us!

P.S. I think she should give me $10 for that, don't you?

I have been thinking that I want to get my hair cut like the picture. Do you think I should or not?

Tonight my dad threw me off the golf cart. What a loser...I think my mom should have spanked him.

The Laundry Party

Last week we had a laundry party. It was so much fun (not really). We got to hang up clothes, fold clothes, and put up socks. We need the laundry fairy to come.

Today we went to Target. I got a costume for Halloween. I'm going to be a pirate!! It has a humongous, floppy hat. I may use it as a candy bucket instead of wearing it! There was even a pirate costume for Buddy, but Mama wouldn't let me get it.
